Q. How do I get to your office?

Q. Does my physician need to refer me to your office for an appointment or can I refer myself?
A. Physician referrals are preferred, but we do accept self-referred patients as well. Patients should be prepared to bring copies of previous medical record documentation, such as x-rays, MRI films, CT films, arteriogram films, vascular tests, lab tests, etc.
Q. Is your practice limited to vascular surgery?
A. Yes, we treat all types of arterial and venous problems.
Q. Are appointments required and what number do I call to schedule an appointment?
A. Yes, appointments are required. Please call our office to schedule an appointment between 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
Q. What health care plans do you accept?
A. VVC participates in, and accepts assignments from many insurance plansincluding:*Medicare, BCBS of Alabama, Medicaid of Alabama, Aetna, Champus/Tricare, Private Health Care Systems, NAMCI.*If your insurance is not listed here, please call our office at 265-7480 and our patient accounting staff will be happy to prepare and submit your claim. You will need to provide us with complete information…identification number, group number, and mailing address of the company.*Please bring your insurance cards and drivers license with you for our staff to copy.If your insurance requires pre-authorization and/or a second opinion, please inform our staff.
Q. What payment options are available?
A. We accept cash, checks and credit cards (Discover, MasterCard and Visa only).
Q. Is there anything I need to do before coming to your office?
A. It is best to dress in two-piece clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Also, please bring a list of your prescribed medications and dosages or bring your medicines in their original containers.
Q. Is it ok to bring a family member or friend with me to be in attendance during my visit with you?
A. Yes, especially if you have difficulty walking and/or need assistance with being transported and lifted from your car into our office and exam room. The staff at VVC makes every effort to meet the special needs of our patients.
Q. How do I renew a prescription written by a VVC physician?
A. We will renew prescriptions for medications prescribed by our physicians. In order to keep your prescriptions current, you will need to see your physician at recommended intervals. The easiest method of having a prescription refilled is to have your pharmacist call our office in advance. If you prefer to call us regarding your prescription refill, please call our office at(256)265-7480.
Q. What should I do if I experience an emergency?
A. Our physicians are on call 24 hours daily. Please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department. Identify yourself as a patient of TVVC and request that an Emergency Department physician evaluate your problem. The Emergency Department physician will notify our physicians of any help needed in your care.
